Anita discovered her passion for community dance back in 2010. She walked into her first salsa social in Rīga's Teika neighbourhood and something just clicked. What started as a personal hobby became a mission when she noticed a real gap — there weren't enough social dance opportunities for people over 45 who wanted authentic movement and genuine connections.
After completing her degree in Sports and Recreation Management from Latvijas Universitate, she spent three years training as a certified kizomba and salsa instructor. But here's the thing — she wasn't just learning the steps. She was organizing grassroots dance meetups in local parks and community centers at the same time. That hands-on experience shaped everything she does today.
Her real breakthrough came in 2014. That's when she established the first regular lakeside dance social near Sigulda. It wasn't fancy or complicated — just dancers, music, and the outdoors. Since then, it's grown to attract participants from across the entire country. Over 200 weekend dance gatherings organized. Thousands of people connected through movement.
